'The Avengers' (1961): Narrative

The Avengers:

‘The Avengers’ is a closed narrative because we don’t know who the killer is. Emma and John use clues to find out the identity killer is.

            The Narrative:
           
A man comes out of the ocean in a bin bag.

The two spies, Steed and Peel have a friendly sword fight and flirt with each other.

They hear that 6 spies have gone missing in a small town called Little Baisley and go to check it out.

The whole town acts strange and in the end try to kill the 2 spies.

Both of the spies manage to win and then finally go home

Peel and Steed have a heterosexual relationship because during the 1960swhen the show was made, it was illegal to be gay.


Peel also wears tight leather clothes because the 60s was a time when women showed off their bodies more often. She represented a woman confident about her body.Related image
